Sungazer's Wife 6
What the Olympic Gold Means to a North Korean Everyday we live in our homes comfortably, drive or ride in cars, watch television, and use our refrigerators. What if we all did not have any of those conveniences of life? We would not have KSI for one, or our favorite foods to snack on during the meetings, or the convenience to drive in the drenching rain instead of walk in the rain. For North Koreans, it is normal. As part of a motivation, North Korean Olympic athletes are competing for medals like any other country, with the catch of they must be successful at the sport. If they do poorly, they are banned from the sport they are competing in, and they are forced to go to a labor camp. However, if they are successful, they are given an apartment, a car, a television, and a refrigerator. They also believe that because of their Supreme Commander, Kim Jong Un, gave them the power to be able to win the Olympic medals. Once they win an Olympic medal, they give their medal over to their Supreme Commander. Currently, there are six athletes competing in eleven sports.
