KSI VEILSIX 7 30 Posted April 17, 2012 Report Share Posted April 17, 2012 Hey guys, As most have probably heard by now, I was named Director of News Team by the Powers that Be. This post is a little overdue, as I've been moving to a new place and dealing with other personal issues. Thankfully things are starting to largely calm down and I can resume working up to dedicating my normal KSI time as I have since I joined. So my apologies first off to those who have been waiting to hear something. I'd like to start off with getting a feel for the current staff already on board that are fully active and want to be involved in the new direction the team will be taking. I will be expecting a commitment to deadlines for the positions every staff member takes on. Part of the restructure will focus largely on a timely delivery that our members will be able to count on. This will keep them interested and coming back frequently. For the staff that wishes to forge ahead on this new path, I would like to receive a Friends Request on XBL from you ASAP. KSI VEILSIX 7 is my gamertag. Also, please post your intent to stay on the team below as well as any suggestions and opinions you have of our future course. I am going to start by replying to this same thread below, with a summary of the Vision I have for the News Team. This is something I have already presented to the Projects and Programs and I feel I should have full transparency with the News Team staff as well. KSI VEILSIX 7 30 Posted April 17, 2012 Author Report Share Posted April 17, 2012 Goals: Restructure current News area into new KSI News Portal Vision: Global Sentinel Obtain approval and for KSI News Portal Vision Obtain Web Ops assistance to execute necessary changes to deploy KSI News Portal Vision Complete necessary staffing to conduct KSI News Portal Vision Operations Global Sentinel: KSI Global’s solution to informing, uniting and propagandizing our community. A retool of our current News area into a dynamic, news-dedicated interface that the average KSI member will want to visit and interact with. Global Sentinel will consist of several main components, all located on the Sentinel interface: Columns: I Am KSI: Member based column updated twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays by 1 dedicated Columnist. Each column will focus on a random member, where they are placed, who they are, etc. KSI Sports: Tournament/Lobby/Clan Ops/Game Night/Grudge Match results column updated twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays by 1 dedicated Columnist. [*]Articles: On the Horizon: Article updated weekly by 1 Writer with subsections for brief release announcements/reviews for Movies, Games and Music. All will have a KSI/gaming related slant when possible (I.e., “music to game toâ€). Gear & Tech: Article updated weekly by 1 Writer on current & upcoming hardware, gear, technology & comparisons related to gamers and gaming. KSI Link: Article updated weekly by 1 Writer on everyday life in our community, ranging from interviews with members (RCT-BoD), KSI events, issues, procedures, suggestions, opinions, ideas. KSI Live (ticker):Live 24/7 ticker scrolling real-time daily division/community updates. 50 Character limit. Division Reporters (like IA Liaisons): 1 per Division, requires a CO-FO+ rank, will upload Division news (new recruits, promotions, standout performance, squad meeting times) at least 1 brief ticker upload a day. Access to KSI Live will also be granted to necessary BoD/Web Ops to disseminate necessary info (Blacklist announcements, tournament announcements) Abuse of KSI Live for any non-official use results in loss of update priviledges and DivRep position. [*]Nolidge Stremf Intergudy [*]Comic strip functioning as a humorous caricature of the ridiculous daily situations we run across in our KSI lives. [*]Character models will be based on Spartans or Soldiers depending on week. Ranks will be clear on each character model. [*]Strip will be written and designed by KSI VEILSIX 7, idea submissions will be accepted.
