Impy 460 Posted April 5, 2015 Report Share Posted April 5, 2015 Team, Always keep an eye out for "quick-hits." Those are stories that can be written and published quickly. We've done this with cool and viral YouTube videos and some KSI and gaming announcements. These are good. But when you're working on longer-form stuff, here are some ideas for what we need and what KSI members like. Feel free to contribute to this list. Member or divisional profiles. These include talking to the subject and interviewing a member or two to support the story. (Ex: A profile about DM would require DM's 7's, a Senior and maybe a few members from the division. A profile about LW's Division Leader would require that person and some of their closest KSI friends/leaders.) Question and Answer sessions. These would focus on one person and be less serious than profiles. Ask them the basics, who they are, where, how long, etc. Ask them about where they want to go, why they joined KSI, and then ask quirky questions. These would include their best/worst memories, what they've learned, a time they screwed up, what they'd do differently, and anything else you can think that would create in interesting response. KSI Speaks. Ask 5-10 people the same open-ended question to get varied responses. Examples: What superpower would you have if you could have any one? What do you think of that game that just came out? Weekend Warfare/Event/Game Night coverage. There are always events we can be in to cover. When you do this, recap the events and name 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Show how the winning team won, and talk to the event host and the winner(s) for their thoughts on the competition. Game Reviews. People love game reviews. If you play a game and we haven't reviewed them, write up a review. It can be as short or as long as you want to make it. Also, encourage other members to contribute their own pieces. These can be opinionated and braggy about their division, squad or leaders. That's fine. These would be Divisional or Squad Spotlights. Also, any contributed piece can cover any of the above categories. We want KSI members to participate in KSI News, so spread the word. Any other ideas? Just post up and let everyone know.
