Here we can track our conversations better and well... being on the forums it's logged time/dated and all.  I'd like to keep this SPAM FREE and discuss actual productions related matters internal and external to KSI.  See a cool edit or idea on another youtube channel, feel free to pop a link in here and discuss.  Find a thread about something going on here in KSI worth noting, drop a link and talk about it here as well.  So on and so forth.

 

With that being said, I wanted you all to give yourselves a pat on the back on such a great job thus far.  All of you have provided valuable contributions to the channel and streams, so much so that we're back on the map as a respectable & vital department.  We're in the forefront of leadership conversations and we're finally attracting MORE attention than before.  As a TEAM lets continue to keep up the great work and have fun doing it.

Have an idea that may yield some new streamers for the team.

 

What if we held a "Streamer's Workshop - The In's & Outs, Do's & Don'ts of Streaming"

 

After everyone has gone through the workshop could sign up for a proving ground session so to speak in which those same people who learned what they need to know regarding streaming will have a chance to prove they have what it takes to get host streamed or stream directly from @KSILIVE.  During proving grounds, these folks will be evaluated on audio/visual quality of stream, integrity of character... as they're representing KSI every time they stream, how well they can navigate and employ stream functionality (i.e. overlays, hosting a short clip, etc).  It would also help to test their debugging skills just by asking them hypothetical scenarios - if this happens what would be the cause of the issue kind of series of questioning.

Of course, this is just a preliminary idea.  But the goal behind this would be to get more streamers for the team - even if it's for PC gaming (as long as it doesn't interfere with event or xbox streaming as that's our main focus).  But there's nothing wrong with having capable streamers hosting PC gaming content on twitch while there's no other events or xbox streaming going on.

I was kinda thinking along those lines, but more so with this in mind.  We all KNOW there are plenty of other folks out there in the community streaming on a regular basis, but probably don't stream or are not as skilled at streaming as the folks on our team.  With the workshop in place, we can see for ourselves, build them up and pick and choose who we'd like to bring onto the team as a regular or simply as a backup on call.  At least this way if we have any requests, multiple events or what have you we have more than a few people with the availability and skill to stream.

Here's something I want everyone to have in the back of their minds, particularly editors:

 

SPIRIT WEEK IS ON THE HORIZON!!!

 

This is the single biggest event of the entire year taking up 5-7 days and with high visibility across the entire community as well as others outside.  It's imperative that we gear up for this huge event and really bring on the support our team can provide to ensure, at least from our end, that we support as much as we can.  This includes streaming, any solutions to technical difficulties, back up everything (streamer, lobby host if necessary, etc), the works.

 

Even more so, I want our department to stand out and show the Huck up this year.  Why?  Because KSI has never seen a better Productions Team than what we have this year.  With this in mind, I'd like to use Spirit Week to solidify this known fact.  Here's what I have in mind, and I'd certainly like to hear from you all what you think or add to, suggestions etc.

 

Spirit Week Promo Vids

- Yes, multiple promo's leading up to the event

- Yes, a promo for EACH EVENT DURING SPIRIT WEEK! --- this can be played as an intermission during a live stream for all to see, or aired before the meat of the live stream.

 

These don't have to be stupid crazy sponsor submission level edits.  But something that actually pertains to Spirit Week and/or the upcoming events we're hosting.

 

Spirit Week Interviews

 

I'd really like to see all those with capture cards just doing mini-interviews with random folks about Spirit Week in the stretch of time leading up to the event, during Spirit Week, and after.  This will help get folks excited about the event and spread awareness of it as well.  During the Spirit Week, this is something we can use for people to tell us how much fun they're having, who they're rooting for in what competitions, and other stuff.  Post Spirit Week would be more like a drawn out conclusion to this event - how much fun ppl had, who won what, what was the funniest moment, etc etc.  As with all interviews, lets keep it on a positive note.

 

Thoughts?  Suggestions?

 

Keep in mind, I'm really looking for people on the team to step up and tackle projects and finish them.  Don't just make wild suggestions, bring up practical ideas and look to champion it yourself with the help of the team.

As stream King. I am particularly picky with who stream so on our channel. I like to see activity and quality streams. I don't like seeing dull streams on the same game all the time. Most people streaming video on Xbox One are using the twitch app. Obviously we do not accept any applicants that only use the app. It doesn't show any true effort of being an actual streamer. A real streamer has the equipment and software to stream. I only use the app because it's easier but I still have the equipment as back up. As of now only a select few streamers have stream keys or direct access. If a new streamer wants to stream they have to use their own channel and our channel host streams it. This helps both our channel and their own.

As of now the stream is no longer on our forums due to it "l agging" the page. Even though I have never personally lagged while its on there. I am going to think of ideas to better implement the stream onto the forums without it affecting the website.
