Get Involved, KSI!

 

There are number of departments and projects with new opportunities for members of any rank to get involved in.

 

The Award Achievement Program, or AAP, is a department that is in charge of creating awards and deciding who is worthy of receiving them. The majority of the position is to vote yes or no on award nominations. Applications to join the AAP staff are now open. If you are interested go to the AAP Section and fill out the proper application form. Applications are only open until February 20th, so hurry in! Even if you aren't on the AAP Staff, you can also make suggestions for awards, and nominate yourself and others for awards!

The KSI Graphic Design Team is always open and looking for interested artists. Currently Adobe is offering Photoshop CS2 for free on their site! And the Graphics Team is always willing to teach anyone who is interested, even if you have zero experience! A Sig of the Week competition has recently started up, and any artist may enter! Even if you aren't interested in becoming a gfx artist, you can stop by to vote on the Sig of the Week winners, and of course anyone can stop by and request a signature!

The KSI News Team writes news articles about video games, technology, the KSI Community, and really anything a writer finds interesting and wants to write about! These articles are posted up on KSI's Homepage, as well as on the G 1 4 Class i fied. Currently, there is a nice freelance program where any member can write and submit an article! If you are interested in committing long term you can also fill out an application to join as a writer or an editor!

KSI Productions is a program that revolves around videos and video editing! if you are interested in learning how to make montages, KSI Productions is willing to teach you and help you along. If you do not have a capture card or editing software, there are now going to be some other opportunities for members to get involved in productions projects! If you are interested and willing to dedicate time and effort to write and act in sketches, we would love to get some machinima series running in KSI! Also if you are a forger, minecraft player, or have anything else that you would want to display, stop buy productions! we would love to start showcasing KSI members' creations!

Say Hello to KSI's New Logo!

 

 

You may have noticed a new KSI Logo floating around. lVl+ (formerly known as KSI Swift 7) designed a new logo, and we love it so much it is now the official logo of KSI Global! The GFX team is now using this logo for all KSI related work. They are currently working hard to update and replace all of the web, forum section, and division banners with this new logo! Also, if you stop by the request section, you can get this logo implemented in your very own custom forum signature! If you see Swift around give him a thanks, KSI!

Just scribbled down some of my thoughts and feeling on what KSI means to me and all of us a while back. I love writing, so I thought I'd try submitting it, but if you like it, is up to you guys  

 

Title: KSI in our daily life

 

KSI - this is the amazing community that we have all come to love and rely on. But what is it really that inspires our feelings, what is KSI to us? What does it mean?

 

K.S.I. Knowledge. Strength. Integrity. All these words sound grand and great, but do we relate to these in our daily life? Well, I think the answer is both no and yes. No, because what KSI is to us in our daily life, that’s the small things. Yes, because those small things stem from the basic values and goals that KSI have set and that are reflected in our name.

 

On a day-to-day basis, we all go online, we get together for a few games, play and have fun together. We meet new people every so often; recruits within our own squads as well as people from the rest of our division. Once in a while, we even meet people from other division, or the senior leadership. These are all the small things. We then realize just how social a place this is, and a great way of growing as human individuals. Of course it’s not all gaming and kicking back, but we all take on duties, at different levels, to maintain our high standards, and keep pushing KSI as a whole to grow even bigger and better. We grow as individuals even more, and we can all see the leaders that are borne and grow among us.

 

We may not always have it easy, there will be setbacks and hardships, from insufficient leadership, dwindling numbers, decreasing activity or really anything else. But we still prevail, we will rise again and be stronger than before. We will do this, because we stick together and solve the problems together, and together we are strong. That is another important thing; we are there for each other. If I am feeling lonely or just not so great at the moment, there is always someone there to just chat for a while, play a game or two, and even if it’s only so much, it always feels better. It feels better because we care for each other. My squad and my division is like my second family, and I doubt I am the only one feeling this. So props to Pride and Ground Zero from me, and props to all squads and divisions, for being there for all our members!

 

So, what is KSI to us, every day?

It is Knowledge, as we learn from each other and grow. It is Knowledge that someone has my back if I need it.

It is Strength, as we help and support each other. It is Strength, as we get together as squads and divisions, and we become strong with the support of many.

It is Integrity, as we stand by these values and goals, not giving them up for an easier solution. And it is Integrity, as we learn to keep our own values and our own integrity, not just in-game, but in our daily lives.

DIVISIONAL PRIDE

I'm proud of my division. I'm proud of all their accomplishments and every single member that has helped make my division what it is today. I'm sure many, if not all of you feel the same about the Div you call home. While it's awesome to be proud of your Div, don't forget that you're not alone. With over 5,000 members and 15 divisions, things are bound to get competitive. And competition is great. It helps to keep us from drifting apart and becoming stagnant. Pushing us to expand and be the best. But there is a fine line between friendly competition and disrespect. Joking around is fun. Trash talking is not. To hear a member from one division criticize or insult another due to Divisional difference is not only unacceptable, but wrong. Your motto may say KSI Unity GZ while mine says KSI Crysis WI but you know what they have in common? Knowledge, Strength, and Integrity. Don't just be proud of your Division. Be proud of your community.

Title: Prepare for his return Captain Price is Back 

 

As you all know Captain Price from the past Call of Duty`s, he has been a major benefactor to the series as a main character. 

Well he is making his grand return to Call of Duty Ghost later week.

As seen in the  tweet from Infinity Ward which is posted below you see our favorite  hero returning as a all new DLC for Call Of Duty Ghost. He will be returning with a new recticle,  weapon camo , a new patch, a playercard, and background. Price is going to be one of the characters you can change into and become. 

Infinity Ward says they are releasing the new DLC on February 18th. I believe it will be released if no errors occur will or before its released. Me personally think  this is a great thing happening and expect to buy it soon. I mean it is going to be funny seeing a bunch of Captain Price`s around on multiplayer. What are your guy`s thoughts and opinions on this?

Spec Ops: The Line Review

 

 

I recently picked up Spec Ops: The Line in one of those sweet deals Xbox had going on for a while. I had some interest in the game going in, as I had seen positive albeit limited exposure, just never got around to it. With this deal it re-sparked my interest. This is why it should spark yours as well.

Is The Line perfect? No. Far from it. In fact, the game has quite a few flaws. For example: sketchy checkpoints that’ll set you back excruciatingly far, dodgy damage indicator, clipping issues, frame rate and rendering ugliness. But through all that, I still thoroughly enjoyed the game. Why you may ask? Was it the graphics? Was it the gameplay? While neither of those make the game stand out on their own, what does is simple: the story telling.

Spec Ops: The Line takes place in Dubai after a catastrophic sandstorm has torn it apart. You are Captain Martin Walker; your partners are LT. Alphonse Adams, a large heavy machine gunner, and Ssgt. John Lugo, a sniper with a mouth. You’re all part of an elite U.S. Delta Team, sent on a reconnaissance mission to rescue Commander John Konrad and his 33^rd Infantry. Konrad and his men defied orders to stay behind and assist the locals in an evacuation attempt. In the process, all contact with the 33^rd was lost. When you arrive, it has been 6 months since their last transmission and things look bleak. That is until a dark and disturbing truth starts to unravel through the blood soaked sand.

This game is about the narrative. Don’t expect revolutionary gameplay or graphics here. But what you can expect is an original story filled with twists, betrayal, and tough choices. Yes, choices. This is your story. You make the calls. But don’t expect them to be easy. Save a group of civilians? Yeah, of course. But what if that means losing your only lead to the truth? Not so easy then. And don’t think your men are just going to blindly follow you. Adams says to save the civilian, that’s your duty as soldiers. Lugo says save the lead, he’s your only source of figuring out the situation. Both men are strongly opinionated and have no issue telling you when you’ve made the wrong call. But that’s the beauty of this game, there are no wrong calls. No black and white. Just red stained sand.

This game appeared to me as a generic 3^rd person shooter. But it’s so much more than that. The combat may be standard but it has weight. Choices with consequences are nothing new to the video game industry but they haven’t been done like this. The results are immediate and brutal. But here’s a warning, this game isn’t filled with happy endings or cookie cutter decisions. Nothing is clear, except the fact that this game is worth your time. So if you’re looking for something new, something different, this game won’t disappoint.
