XGN Zannah 7 205
When you think of award shows, you think they will be well organized. This was not the case at the inaugural Youtube Music Awards. The events director, Spike Jonze summed up the show with thanking Youtube for "letting us make this mess." I couldn't have said it better. The 90 minute show was held in New York City and could only be viewed via Youtube. With performances from Lady Gaga to Eminem, you think the show would attract millions of views, but in the end the show only tallied up 215,000 viewers at its height. A fraction compared to the almost 10 million people that tuned into the VMAs on MTV. Even announcing the winners of the awards was confusing at times with not well known artists beating top notch artists, confusing the crowds into awkward silence and applause. The only entertaining thing from the show was the hosts of the show, comedians Reggie Watts and Jason Shwartzmann as they scrambled around trying to fill in time because of the numerous technical glitches that Youtube experienced during the show. In the end, Youtube can take this as a learning experience and better prepare for next year. Below is a list of the award winners: 2013 Youtube Music Awards Winners: Video of the Year - Girls' Generation, I Got A boy Artist Of The Year- Eminem Response Of The Year- Lindsey Stirling & Pentatonix, Radioactive Youtube Breakthough- Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Innovation Of The Year- DeStorm, See Me Standing
 Below is a list of the award winners: Editor's note: Those are all fairly familiar names. Perhaps you aren't too familiar with Girls Generation, but they've got a whole slew of fans among the League of Legends community and elsewhere. They're probably as popular, if not more so than Lady Gaga or Macklemore, in some cases. It's mostly about demographics. 'not well known' is clunky. Generally speaking, if it isn't well known, it's unknown. 'fairly unknown' would be a better choice of words, but I'd have to disagree as it is mostly about where you look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wq7ftOZBy0E Nearly 76 million views.. popular enough, and worthy enough for video of the year.. with another few million spread across the other videos of the song. If the artists weren't well known, they probably wouldn't have won. That they did means that they have all the renown they need. DeStorm... innovation of the year implies that it could be from someone knew.. established folks have a tendency to stick with what works for them, so you don't generally see innovation on their part. Just my thoughts on the matter. I suggest changing the terminology for the pink words.
 Awards
