It was that time of the year again. A time where music celebrities show off their looks, personalities, and this year lack of self respect.  The 2013 MTV VMAs (aka Music Video Awards) were live at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, a first for the iconic borough.

To start off the festivities,  was none other than Lady Gaga who went through five different costume changes during her performance of her new single, "Applause."  Then came the headline of the entire show with Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke's duet of "Blurred Lines." Viewers watched stunned as Cyrus twerked with Thicke in a nude color two piece easily destroying her once innocent teen star image.  Then came Justin Timberlake's 15 minute performance of his greatest hits and within that a short NSYNC reunion happened.  Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performed their popular gay rights song, "Same Love." The rap duo performance became emotional towards the end when Mary Lambert finished the song with Jennifer Hudson.  Finally finishing the awards underneath the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, was Katy Perry's first ever performance of her new single, "Roar."

Finally like every year, there are a few artists that walk away with the coveted Moonman awards.  Justin Timberlake walked away with the most totaling 4 awards which included Video of the Year, Best Direction, Best Editing, and the prized Michael Jackson Video Vanguard. Seattle rap duo,  Macklemore and Ryan Lewis came away with 3 awards for Best Hip-Hop, Best Cinematography, and Best Video with a Social Message.  Next came Bruno Mars with 2 awards for Best Male and Best Choreography.  Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, and Pink each came away with one award for Best Pop, Best Female, and Best Collaboration respectfully. For a complete list of the award winners, please view the bottom of the aritcle.

Love them or hate them, the VMAs are always interesting to watch due to the fact you will never know who will act the weirdest to gain attention.  Well, another award show concluded and we wait till next year to see who wins.
