Killzone Shadow Fall

One of the most popular Playstation exclusive franchises returns with the upcoming Killzone Shadow Fall.  With the announcement in February and the gameplay trailers soon after, Killzone Shadow Fall looks completely different from its predecessors.  A new colorful environment, weapons, gameplay and story are the main differences in this new title.

 

Shadow Fall takes place 30 years after the events of Killzone 3 on the planet Vekta.  The planet is in a state of cold war, divided by a huge wall that separates the surviving Helghasts and native Vektans.   Players assume the role of ISA (Interplanetary Strategic Alliance) soldiers keeping the peace between the two hostile factions.

 

The gameplay and weapons in Killzone Shadow Fall are very different from the first three.  The environment is more vibrant then the gloomy gray players progressed through in previous titles.  Classic weapons such as the M82 and stA-52 assault rifles are making a return along with a new hybrid assault/sniper rifle.  In additional to the new hybrid rifles is the OWL. An advanced drone that can hack terminals, attack the enemy, shield the player from harm, and be used as a zipline.  The gameplay is more open world then linear as you have a choice in what order you want to complete your objectives.  Unlike the first three, Shadow Fall takes more strategy than guns blazing when taking on the Helghast soldiers.

 

As with the first three games, Shadow Fall will be a Playstation exclusive.  Killzone Shadow Fall is expected to drop with the launch of the Playstation 4 in late 2013.
