yes, like Scottie said, nominators do not count toward witness counts. And also, love seeing activity pick up, just let's make sure we give enough time, attention and care to all nominations. If you're unsure of requirements, check the rules and awards or come ask Scottie or me, and the best trick from when I first joined, keep the awards descriptions page bookmarked and consult it when new nominations are posted. With that said, keep it up, make sure to review the nominations for when we've made some corrections, and good night I'll be back in the morning to look over how the nominations are going

I looked through the award suggestions thread to find realistic and plausible awards.

This award is practically the same as the other gamerscore ones just higher, it's a really high score, but there people who have it.

Alright, guys, so with the nominations up for a few days and everyone adjusting to handling them, I've just got a few things and pointers to improve our work

When we have had a staff member post asking for a witness we do not post again asking for the same thing until a witness has stepped forward, unless the timing  is unreasonable (and then we ask for movement on the nomination). We don't make three posts in less than 48 hours  

If we feel that a witness statement isn't detailed enough, we don't call them out publicly, please talk to them privately or wait for someone else to provide more details.

In qualitative awards, there's a tendency to accept and start voting after just a few witnesses. Let a few more witnesses step forward, most awards aren't finished in hours or a day, but takes some time, there is no need to rush these awards.

We only drop our votes if there is no one else that can witness or other extreme cases, we don't do it on a regular basis.

We also avoid anything that isn't pertinent to the nominations; asking for witnesses, movement or to cast a vote.

If we are uncertain about the requirements and if they are met or not, come ask in here or personally, not in the nomination threads themselves.

I can only Echo what Emmy has said here. Don't rush to vote, noone is making you rush. And as for the dropping your vote to witness, there a reason you are in the staff. I need you to vote. Unless you are legitimately the last person in KSI that can witness, then its fine, otherwise lets cut it down please and get the rest of the community involved.

I just read this. One circumstance that will pertain to myself is that I am one of the few people left that was above Ascend in LW. So basically nominations he has in which someone from that time has to witness I will most likely be the one to do so. If that is an issue just let me know, it's just hard when most of the people are no longer in KSI anymore

Unless its required of the witness to be above him, then id ask you to refrain. If it wants someone who is above him, or someone who was there when he changed his name ect ect fair enough.

BUT when I see THREE staff all drop their votes to witness, just to witness. Well. Thats a complete other story.

That's understandable. I didn't even see this until after I had witnessed on his OS lvl 1

I was speaking to my divison leader about divisonal milestones, and I was wondering if their is a list of milestones somewhere on the forums, so that divs can have an idea of what they can apply for.

The OTMs, just like always, open up towards the end of the month. Usually we open them around 20-25-ish. And that's nothing new, people post topics for OTMs any time of the month, sometimes even when regular OTMs are open, we just have to keep telling people how it works

Hey, guys. Since part of the job as staff is maintaining activity in here, in the staff chat (and more often than just once a week/month/time period of your choosing), and to double check that you guys have access, I want a roll call. Everyone, no matter how long or short they've been here, should post and if you want to, add something on what your goal as staff here is!

 

on a second note, we kick started activity when nominations were relaunched beyond any expectations we had, and I'm really proud of that. But this past week, we've had a dip both in nominations coming in and staff activity. Please make sure to keep monitoring nominations even when they're coming in at a slower pace, so we can finish the ones we have started. and if you know that you will have a few days when you can't keep up activity, let Scotland and I know, so we can compensate for your absence. With this said, how about getting back to work starting with all those nominations only waiting for a staff vote?
