I was just thinking that. I think some of the staffs problem is a few of the witnesses didn't really witness for mad max. However I am voting yes at this point.

With things that we don' specify for witnesses, my mentality is this. The more descriptive witnesses that you have in accordance with the award, then the less you will need.

Also, one of my more outstanding staff members that had to recently step back due to his responsibilities with his deployment in Afghanistan, has had an event come up that cuts his platoon's workload in half. You all may be familiar with him as KSI Mufasa 7. I'm posting this in here, because we recently had a member step down, and I want your opinions on him returning in a few days as a staff member on the AAP.

Thoughts?

Okay, just so that everyone knows. WE ARE NOT GIVING OUT AWARDS FOR TnE OF THE YEAR. Those have not been made yet, and I probably won't have time to get them implemented before the OTYs are done.

So, there is an issue with the images on the website. They show broken links, and there isn't currently a way to fix this from my end. Also, profile pictures will not upload to the site, suggesting that this is an issue that must be resolved by the server admin. We will still conduct business as usual, so make sure that nominations are up to date. We'll be actively working to fix this issue.

I would like to point something out and then ask something here.

1: Taywick you realize if you drop your vote to witness a nominations then you can't vote in that nomination or bump. Your treated as a witness for that particular nomination. Just letting you know, might of been an accident.

http://www.ksiforums.org/topic/19709-multiple-nominations-for-ksi-dc-sniper-6/

2: Also pertaining to the same topic. Do you all really think he has enough testimony for OS Lvl 1? He doesn't really have a lot of witnesses and they are all short. There is not a lot in there that leads me to believe he is going above and beyond what he should be doing.

Only bringing this up because I believe OS Lvl 1 OS given out WAY too much to people who are just doing their jobs. The award is for members who are going above and beyond. As AAP Staff it's our job to judge that line. Some awards have specific guidelines to follow when voting yes or no. The OS awards are based on how you feel.

So my question would be do all of you who said yes honestly feel (based of the testimony given) that the nominated member went above and beyond the call of his rank to earn Outstanding Service Lvl 1?

Ps it's earlier in the morning and I am not sure why I even care so much but.... Eh.... It degrades the importance of the award.

I agree with Jeziren. There are also a lot of none descriptive nominations for the OTY Awards I have noticed. It seems many people are just to lazy to sit down and think about why these members deserve these awards.

AND WELCOME BACK MUFASA!!!!!!!

Yes as far as that particular nomination. Trust me i have noooo problem with saying flat out no or not enough. i went based off of what i read. even if it wasnt a page long i went off of what was said or how it was said.

i mean dont get me wrong if its 1 sentence or 3 words, it aint happenin.

OS is about what you do to help out. so if it can only be put in a short description so be it. just better be good haha

When it comes to OTYs tho! Man if they only put a sentence or two then i can assure you it wont even be on the roster i made.

but yea thats just my input

Jezrien, I couldn't agree more with your thought process that awards are "given" away too often. And though a part of that fault lies with us as the AAP team, consider this.  (At least for me) when I look through the witnessing statements, I look to see the ranks of those that have submitted them. Im unable to be on any sort of clan ops so I don't know the submitted awardees, but if I see that a two Co-Fo's a Co-Div and a Div LDR have nominated a non 7 to an award such as OS LVL 1, I feel that means that person HAS gone above and beyond the call if that chain of leadership is acknowledging his/ her accomplishments.

At the same time, there needs to be some sort of system put into place where, not to sound like a douche, but when there is a "fluff" testimony from a witness ; ie  " he is a really good leader, he is really active, he smells good" or whatever the case may be, it needs to just be discarded.  We need to be holding the witnesses to a higher standard of testimony so that we as an AAP collective can appropriately judge them accordingly. Meaning if they aren't stating facts, then its rubbish. Problem is, these type of testimonies are also coming from 7's.

Is this something that could possibly be brought up in a Wed night meeting?  If a 7 is witnessing for someone, then theirs needs to be the MOST credible evidence in the deciding of an awarding, and as such, I feel its within our authority to demand more complete and decisive testimonies to their awardees. They owe the person that they are nominating that much being in a leadership position over them.

AND THANKS SWEETPEA
