Was new to the forums, just trying to put myself out there and be more involved. I stayed in until I left KSI while in a police academy. After I returned, I knew I wanted back in the AAP due to the fact I really believe this section helps make a difference in member retention, and helping people feel like they are recognized and matter here. Finally FaIIout 99 Posted October 9, 2017 Report Share Posted October 9, 2017 Well if I'm being honest I've always loved AAP from the time I was in XGN they also had an AAP team and I think I applied don't remember but it started there and then obviously stuff happened good and bad (lol) I rejoined into here and in my first month I was amazed we had a history team as that's nothing I've ever seen and I was very interested and I got in. This eventually got me thinking (after I was settled in a bit into the history team) "what other departments are there?.". I had applied to AAP previously but I'll get to the funny part in a bit and probably the greatest part but what I wanted was to be on T&E but was told I didn't have a big enough pull in the community really by some of my friends within T&E while its blunt it was the truth I barely knew anybody outside the higher-ups/7's staff, the board, and my squad at the time. Now as I've actively sought out meeting people I do have a bigger pull but I wasn't getting into T&E and the most random door opened. Scotland put me in a message group chat on Xbox with other candidates that were being considered for AAP it said if you weren't interested you could leave the chat and the funny thing is when I applied to T&E I didn't want to have to choose between AAP and T&E because they are both amazing departments within KSI so I edited my AAP application and put I withdrew my application but umm... well I guess I didn't because I wouldn't be here if that was so. So Scotland interviewed me when I believe I was an LT might have been a CPT but I was told it was unlikely someone like me with such little time in KSI (only 2 months at the time and right now it'll be my 4th month in 10 days) to get accepted because of who else was on that list of candidates. Later on, I saw some people like RiiOT and a couple others make the team and I thought I hadn't made it but nope I did I was told on Kik I had made it. It was my first big KSI event and we were helping squad members make their accounts for the forum challenge. so i started to actually go on mines more and browse. After spirit week was over I Logged in and was awarded Fear the beard. Prior I didn't really know what AAP was but after that you can go to the archives and see me start to nominate myself and then others for awards. After a while , seeing how there was NO favoritism shown , factual only type environment for the rare awards I was sold. I think people should be recognized for their efforts and what better way than to be apart of the team that gives the awards. Emmy The Boss 308 Posted October 9, 2017 Report Share Posted October 9, 2017 Haha it's great seeing how you guys first came into contact with the AAP in different ways My first contact with the programme was way back, probably around late 2013 or early 2014, used by the officers and leaders of pride and GZ to encourage activity and promote work and dedication (a gamer score hoarder here, a trainer there, you get the gist) this was also when I was starting out as an officer, and getting onto the TnE staff, so I didn't really get very active with the programme until the summer of 2014. That's also when I got talked into applying for the team, though I never dreamt of being chosen on my first try (and incidentally the same time as Scottie here got bullied into joining ). And the rest is, as they say, history. Now, aside from loving a trip down memory lane and some nostalgia, I think it's important to not forget how we got to here. Because we still have a lot of members, that still haven't made the discovery of the AAP. Let's not forget that there are many ways to us, and let's make sure we take care to keep the ways open and I'd still love to hear from the rest of you Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options... Later, I went back and found I had been nominated for a few OTMs as well as nominated other people. I do not remember this but those were some of the nicest paragraphs I had ever read and the names brought back a huge wave of nostalgia. About a year and a half ago, Mpliers pulled me into a party with Scotland and told him that he had found someone for the AAP team and that Scotty should be excited because I was "competent." It made me laugh, and Scotland seemed like a nice person I would work well with. I then put in an application and after a short interview with Scotty (basic questions, yatta yatta) I was on the team. I have loved it ever since. Weekends are a rough time for me because I have errands and work and whatnot, sometimes things slip my mind.
