STAFF-ROOM CHAT

Prophet

Recommended Posts

Alrighty, so the activity stats has been updated at last :P so if anyone is interested in seeing how participation varies over time, check out the topic that I just posted up. I definitely think that there's improvements to be made, but we can also see that sooner or later activity actually comes back up :) More interestingly, we can see that on average people nominated more people in the OTYs 2015 compared to how many nominations each person submitted in the 2016 OTYs. That's where I think we can do the most work, encourage people to nominate in more than just one category each. :)

So any thoughts or ideas pertaining to improving this aspect is more than welcome!

Thanks everyone for your participation in the OTM voting this month! I'm very happy to see that this is the first time since April that everyone managed to participate and doing it in such timely manner. :) Keep this up, and I am sure that the OTYs will be a huge success too :) Hopefully we'll see this carrying over to using the staff chat more regularly too ;)

While I'm at it, I'll just remind you guys that we have an AAP club for the staff only, and in there Scotland has started a discussion topic that I definitely think you should check out :P

Haha, great might be a little of an exxageration, there is always more work to be done ;) but yes, it is definitively going in the right direction :) now we'll just have to work on motivating people to participate in the regular awards program and nominate members for the other awards we have :)

I usually exaggerate lol but I pushed my members in WD to nominate but I was the only one who did. Hey on the bright side my div leader was the only div lead nominated lol so... Yea! :P But no I can't express how happy I am to even be on something so important. Anyways Thanks! :)

Getting people interested and active from clanops isn't the easiest of tasks, I know :) But keep leading by example, and putting a positive spin on it. You can also try to use it as a motivational tool within a squad, show the officers and aspiring members that their work is noticed and appreciated (here some of the regular awards can be put to very good use), and you'll hopefully see that little by little things will begin to change, like rings on water :) but this is something that is just like the forums in general, you can gain so much in clanops if you just take the time to familiarise yourself, but most people see it as a sort of "necessary evil". It doesn't help that people often have this idea that it's all about favoritism, and that we on the staff only choose to award people we like. But we just have to keep pushing and stay above it all :)

Thanks, and trying to stay productive yes.

Also @FaIIout just don't let people dishearten you about it. Even if you get 1 more member to participate, you have accomplished something. And even if not, that is not your failing by putting information out so people can participate. Just have to casually stay on top of it, but don't press too hard as you can get members that don't want to do it at all if all you ever bring up is the forums. Its a fun little situation. Like suggested,  a good way is to get members who are deserving of member assistance, helping hand etc. Nominated and recognized. Sometimes that's all it takes to gain someone's interest in the department.

Thanks for the encouragement my division definitely won't be easy as my general and Founder have been in longer than me and both have under 100 posts lol. That's not a problem but my goal is to get most of my div or at least *5* people to participate from my div. I won't push to hard either because it'll come over time as I know. The one reason I'm like this is I love the forums they give me a 2nd life within the community and are great for fun and communication outside of the squad and division (although most people keep to their division but I don't I gotta meet new people everyday I love to do that!) The forums instilled a passion into me in the time I was in XGN it died off but it came back stronger than ever and its great. There is a magic in the forums that I may never figure out :p. (If you can't tell I love writing rants and books sorta) :)

Oh, I know the feeling, I always rein myself in when writing, back in my clanops days I could go on and on if no one stopped me :P

But it's great that you're enthusiastic, and setting small, achievable goals or milestones is great. You start out my getting those 5 members participating in the AAP, and then you can set a new goal after that :)

Love the chatter ongoing! Keep it up!

Also Emmy, you are nailing this at the moment! Amazing work!

I know a few members of the department have applied but here's the link for the Mod Applications!

I think I'll skip the mod application though, even if they have cookies. It's all about them cupcakes :P

I heard they have those reserved for senior mods like @ASM RiiOT
