Within the last month, we've seen a few releases of games including one of the most well known 3rd-person-shooter games of all time, Gears Of War 3. You can forget charging around, wall-bouncing, using the Gnasher, because this will get you nowhere. The main change this time around is the heavier development and use of rifle weapons. Using these weapons more than using the Gnasher will highly improve your quality of gameplay and improve your total K/D Ratio. Gears Of War 3 takes place 2 years after E-day (emergence day) and desribes how after the affects of the jacinto crisis, the COG had to retreat to a remote island to begin a new. However this was short to last as the lambent began to show upon and cause harassment on this island. What was left of the COG army had to call a island retreat and begin to live out at sea, although some members decided to head back to the mainland of which they fled (colonel Hoffman and his troops). Our story begins on the ship Delta team live on. . .

The new, mastered version of the old Gears Of War multiplayer has reached a outstanding level in graphic quality and online gamplay. The addition of many new gametypes, replacing and improving old ones, has increased the multiplayer experience and shown that the microsoft/epic games coalition has listened to it's customer reviews after the beta (introduced in april 2011). Team deathmatch has now been introduced into the gears of war franchise, this inlcudes five member teams which both have fifteen lives before warned each player is on their last life. This has basically become an extention of the warzone gametype with multiple lives and adds more exciting gameplay to the gears fans. Another new revelation onto the Gears Of War 3 game is the new capture the leader gametype; this is an improvement on the old guardian gametype (featured in Gears of war 2) and deteriorates the "fight until your leader is dead and hide" rule. Replacing it with having to protect your leader and repel the enemy team as long as you can so he/she cannot be captured, While trying to capture the enemy leader as well.

We have seen some old qualities of the previous Gears Of War franchise games, including the veteran map 'Gridlock'. This map has been featured throughout all of the Gears of war games and has been one of the most appriciated maps of all time. For the recent, Gears Of War 3, Gridlock has been enhanced to fit with the Campaign act four theme of "Ash people"; figures of these ash people have been desplaid all over the Gridlock map and have been possesed with an easter egg for the multiplayer experience on this map. The easter egg on this map can be played on any gamemode, however, wingman would be the best suggestion to discover it and is unlocked through the players within the game not touching/ destroying ANY of the ash people on the map. The melody to the song "Mad world" by Tears for fears (covered by the Gary Jules version), played in the trailer of Gears Of War 1, is played if this is achieved.

The weapons featured within this game have either been re-shaped or re-mastered. To begin with, the Hamerbust now has a new sight system (close to that of the longshot), where the iron sight of the weapon can now be brought closer towards the eye with the click of the right-analogue stick to provide more presicion of accuracy. The two most used and effective weapons are again seen in the new Gears fo war 3, the Lancer and the Gnasher shotgun. These weapons are the most frequent guns within the whole Gears of war franchise and the two most focused guns within the campaign.

The introduction of the Retro lancer and the Sawed-off shotgun changed the way Gears Of War is played completly. These incredibly short-ranged weapons add more emphasis of the us of the rifles during gameplay on relatively enclosed maps. The Retro lancer is the dad of the, more common, Lancer and shows a primitive knowledge on the built of rifle weapon; with a huge amount of recoil towards this gun, it is suggested to only use this weapon on circumstance of short-ranged battles. On the other hand, the Sawed-off shotgun has no recoil, although, it's reload speed is amazingly slow and can only have decent effect when about two inches close to the body of the enemy. Another weapon to be be used in extreme close combat situations.

The new horde 2.0 is a new creative out look upon the old horde design. The new enablement to create fortifications and earn money to prevent the locust horde in achieving dominance is a great enhancement to the game and it now involves the members within the game to actually work together to defend their base and maintaine its structural integrity. The new instalment of adding the lambent into the horde experience has a positive consequence, as the locust and lambant hate each other, they also begin to fight within horde as well.

The addition of the new Beast mode also brings the full GOW experince to a brand new level - to be able to see an amazing outlook on the behalf of the locust. It is the same as horde, however, you are on the opposite team (Locust) and you are killing the CPUs (COG) with 12 rounds to play. You can play as certain Locust to try annihilate the COG defences and kill all members of the COG army. As you progress through the game, you will achieve different levels of locust to play as with the more score you get. From tickers in the first column to berserkers in the fourth (last) column

Lastly, the longest campaign the Gears Of War trilogy has ever featured; with a highly recommended by the customers addition of four player co-op. This makes the campaign experience more team involved creating friends amongst gamers. Arcade mode is another type of campaign where exp and points to achieve leadear status; which you earn by joining various games on many different missions with random players. Also it would be prefered that you play the campaign within arcade mode as you recieve numerous amount of lives, consequently you can respawn and enrole in the mission again without scaring the rest of the team with your death.

The new version of Horde is a creative change from the old Horde design. The new ability to create fortifications and earn money to prevent the locust horde in achieving dominance is a great enhancement to the game and it now involves the members within the game to actually work together to defend their base and maintain its structural integrity. Lambent have also been thrown into the mix, and actively pursue your death and your base's destruction.

The addition of Beast mode brings the Gears of War experience full-circle; the ability to see the battle from the Locust perspective makes Gears more enjoyable and varied in experience than ever before. Imagine playing Horde, but you are on the opposite team (Locust) and you are killing the CPUs (COG) with 12 rounds to play. You can play as certain Locust to try annihilate the COG defenses and kill all members of the COG army. As you progress through the game (earning points), you will achieve different tiers of soldiers to play. From the explosive Tickers in the first tier, to infamous Berserkers in the fourth (last) tier.

To top the game off with a cherry, Microsoft and Epic Games have presented us with the longest campaign in the Gears of War trilogy. Gamers may need help playing through this endeavor, so the producers have also allowed players to cooperatively beat the campaign (a maximum of 4 total players can play cooperatively). This makes the campaign experience more team involved, making it easier for gamers (and especially KSI) to create friends amongst the Gears battlefield. Players can also compete with their friends in the newly introduced Arcade mode for campaign which scores performance of each individual player during campaign.

By now, the series has been polished to an extremely well-received standard. Gears of War has made ratings of more than nine-out-of-ten points and dozens of video game review groups, including IGN and Metacritic. The game sold 3 million copies on the first week of release, and brought the Gears franchise to a total revue of over $1 Billion. Will you shell out for this game among other holiday hits? While the answer varies for everybody, one thing is for certain: Gamers love Gears.
